What the back of the book says
What I thought
Jander Sunstar is a gold elf, a native of magical Evermeet in the Forgotten Realms.  He is also a five-hundred-year-old vampire.
Torn by rage and grief, Jander is transported into the nightmare realm of Ravenloft, where he gains the attention of the demiplane's master, Count Strahd Von Zarovich.  But can Jander trust this elegant fellow vampire once he discovers that his own quest for revenge is linked to the dark heritage of the Count's domain?
This is one of my all-time favorite vampire books.  Actually, it was the first vampire book I read.  I have this wonderful book to thank for my fascination with vampires.  Enough with my nostolgia, though.  This is an excellent book with interesting characters and an exciting plot line.  I also love the way that Vampire of the Mists mixes horror with fantasy.  A great combo if you ask my.  No vampire fan should go without reading this book.  If you love this book, you may also want to check out I, Strahd and Tales of Ravenloft.  Both of which feature Strahd in them.
